Location & Access

Alleppey is easiest to access from Kochi. For tourists coming to Alleppey from North India (Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai), the best option is to fly to Kochi and continue their onward journey by taxi or bus. However tourists from the South India can come via Trivandrum too.

Trivandrum International Airport and Cochin International Airport are the nearest airports. Trivandrum to Alleppey (151 km) and Cochin to Allepepy (75 km) can be covered by the call taxis.Trivandrum and Cochin are connected to most of the major cities in India and have connected flights to many foreign cities, mainly to Kuwait, Dubai and UAE.

Alleppey is connected by good highways that run across the length and breadth of the state. It can be reached by car or taxi.
KSRTC buses are plenty which are connecting all the major cities in Kerala. Trivandrum to Alleppey costs less than Rs 150 and Cochin to Alleppey costs less than Rs 100. Cochin has a magnificent all weather natural port. Regular boat service to places like Kottayam and Alleppey are available through the scenic backwaters of Kerala. Check at the Ernakulam Boat Jetty for timings and tickets.
